Hooray it’s the weekend and you are headed to Pigeon Forge! If you’re a first timer or a veteran the question is usually the same. What are we going to do! You have definitely come to the right place, because there is a lot to do and a lot to experience. Today we are going to discuss a Weekend Guide to Pigeon Forge! This guide will help plan your next weekend getaway. Let’s get to it!
You always need a clean, comfortable, and affordable place to stay! Here at Cedar Lodge, we offer just that and more! Call 800.429.4361 and one of our friendly reservationists will be happy to check availability for you and get you all set up! Our luxury condos range from 2-3 bedrooms and we are conveniently located right on the Little Pigeon River, near all the exciting attractions located along the Pigeon Forge Parkway. We offer an outdoor hot tub and pool, property fishing and grilling as some of our amenities along with $250 worth of Free Attraction Tickets!
Eating is a necessity and do we have some great choices to choose from! Whether you prefer to dine at large well known food chains or local family owned restaurants there is something for everyone. Some of my favorites include Smoky Mountain Brewery, Pottery House Cafe, The Old Mill, Best Italian (located in Gatlinburg), Little Tokyo, Pigeon Forge Deli, and many more! If you prefer a home cooked meal you can do just that! Our condos are equipped with a full service kitchen. Bring Grandma’s famous chicken and dumplings recipe because you can make it during this weekend getaway!
This subject is hard because there literally is so much to see and do here in Pigeon Forge. There is a little something for every personality type. Dollywood is a family favorite from sun up to sundown (be sure to bring home some kettle corn!) I also recommend eating lunch at Corn Dogs and Tater Twirls, my favorite! From the rides and shows, you can expect lots of happy faces especially from your little ones. They currently have their Festival of Nations celebration going on and then they will kick-off their Barbeque and Bluegrass Festival in late May. The Island in Pigeon Forge is a fun outdoor activity as well. There are a ton of activities for the kids to enjoy as well as shopping for those gifts you promised loved ones back home. You can spend the afternoon exploring all of the shops in Downtown Pigeon Forge, Old Mill Ave has quite a few that are worth seeing. You can live a little and go Ziplining at Climb Works in Gatlinburg, voted #1 on Trip Advisor or you can spend the day hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park! Another great way to spend your day is shopping at the famous Tanger Outlet Mall in Sevierville. Most vacationers like to enjoy at least one of the dinner shows in town while visiting. Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede is a fan favorite and we would also suggest Hatfield & McCoy for you and your family. With that Free Ticket Package we mentioned earlier, you receive 1 Free Adult Admission to Hatfield & McCoy and we even have discounted vouchers for Dixie Stampede at the office. Every penny counts so save as much as you can by taking advantage of those perks when staying at Cedar Lodge. Last, but certainly not least, you can choose to go under the sea in Gatlinburg at Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies! (If you are a guest of ours you receive one free ticket!) You can purchase discounted attraction tickets at our office too to Ripley’s, WonderWorks and Dollywood.
One of my favorite things about going on a trip is choosing a souvenir to bring home with me. Some souvenirs can be cheesy, but choose something that will always remind you of that time you came to Pigeon Forge for a weekend getaway! 3 Bears General Store is a great place to shop and find souvenirs. Another great place to visit for souvenirs are the National Park Visitor Centers. They offer some great educational and informative books on the mountains and the Appalachian history, along with t-shirts, kids books, necklaces, bracelets, stuffed animals, magnets, and patches of all hiking trails and destinations in the park.
So here you have it, the Weekend Guide to Pigeon Forge. A handful of ideas to help you create the most memorable and fun weekend you’ve had in awhile. Enough to keep you coming back for more. So go ahead and book your condo, we look forward to seeing you soon!
